Documents required for Food License Registration in India – FSSAI Registration

 

In this article, we will learn about the requirements of documents for food registration in India without which you cannot start your food business in India. Therefore, any food manufacturing or food processing or packaging or distributing entity shall be required to obtain a food license under FSSAI.

As said, for obtaining FSSAI License or registration, one is required to compile and arrange certain documents and that depends entirely on the type of food license registration which is dependent upon the turnover and area of operation.

Here is the turnover limit which decides the type of food license required:

• Basic Food License Registration: This registration is required when a food business is expecting the turnover is up to Rs.12 lakhs.

• State Food License Registration: This registration is required when a food business is expecting the turnover between 12 lakh to 20 crores.

• Central Food License Registration: This registration is required when food business is expecting the turnover over 20 crores. Further, if the business is dealing in import and export of the goods, then also it shall be required to register under central license.

Documents required for basic food license registration

The basic food license registration is for those small entrepreneurs or starts ups whose turnover remains below of Rs. 12 lakh. This can further be promoted to state License if in case the business crosses the limit of Rs.12 lakh.

Following are the documents required for basic food license registration

Personal information of Food Business operator

• PAN Card: Copy of PAN is mandatory identity proof
• Copy of Aadhaar Card/ Voter identity card/ Driving License (Either of the three)
• Passport size Photo

Documents for Registered office from where the food business is being operated

• The latest Utility Bill( Electricity / Water Bill)
• Copy of Rent Agreement( if Rented property)
• Copy of property paper (if owned property)

 

In addition to the above following documents are also required for registration:

• Form-A must be appropriated completely and signed by all directors/ partners/ proprietor /Executive member of society
• Declaration regarding food safety management system(FSMS) on the letterhead of the firm or company
• Proof of Income determining  the annual turnover of  food business operator
• Nomination of the person appointed by the company in Form No.IX and the copy of Board Resolution
• Self Declaration  by Director
• Affidavit on Non-Judicial Stamp paper

 

Documents required for State and Central food Licensing

The state food license registration is for those entrepreneurs whose turnover is more than 12 lakh as explained in the beginning of this article. This can further be promoted to central License if in case the business crosses the limit of Rs.20 Crores.

Following are the documents required for state and Central food license registration.

Personal Information of Food Business operator/ Director/ Partners

• PAN Card: Copy of PAN is mandatory identity proof
• Copy of Aadhaar Card/ Voter identity card/ Driving License (Either of the three)
• Passport size Photo

Documents for Registered office from where the food business is being operated

• The latest Utility Bill( Electricity / Water Bill)
• Copy of Rent Agreement( if Rented property)
• Copy of property paper (if owned property)

 

In addition to the above following documents are also required for registration:

• Duly filled Form - B must be correctly and appropriately completed and signed by the directors/ partners/ proprietor/ Executive member of society
• List of Partners/Proprietor/Executive Members of Society with complete address and contact details.
• Blueprint plan/layout plan of the processing unit installed capacity and horsepower used.
• Constitution of company MOA and AOA / Partnership Deed
• Analysis report as per the nature and business activity of the company
• Food and safety management system and certificate
• Declaration regarding food safety management system(FSMS) on the letterhead of the firm or company
• Proof of Income determining  the annual turnover of  food business operator
• Nomination of the person appointed by the company in Form No.IX and the copy of Board Resolution
• Self Declaration  by Director
• NOC from local authority
• Affidavit on Non-Judicial Stamp paper
• List of food category desired to be manufactured
• Production unit Photograph
• Any other documents which may be a demand by authority on the basis of the requirement of the business.
