When to renew the FSSAI License
The validity of FSSAI license can vary from 1 to 5 years. With a minimum of 1 year to a maximum of 5 years, this validity is chosen by the food operator at the time of making a fresh application. The procedure of all the years is same only the costing varies in each scenario.
As per the guidelines of FSSAI, an application has to be made within 30 days from the expiration of the existing one. The applicant has to file the application within prescribed time if any person is unable to do so then he has to pay a penalty of Rs.100 per day. Procedure to renew food license in India
The following is the procedure to follow to renew your food license in India-
- The first step is to visit the website. Here is the official website’s link - Click Here and click on express renewal on the bottom right section of the website.
- Once you have selected the option you will be asked to provide the details like your license number and expiration date of the license. Provide the details and submit.
- Once you have submitted the application you will log into the portal and will be required to fill a form as you did in your fresh application.
- Hence you will be asked to fill either form A or form B (according to your business type) these are the basic forms consisting of the business activities of the Food Operator which are required to be filled
- A self-attested declaration is to be attached with the form that you will comply with the guidelines of FSSAI
- Any 1 of the below-given ID has to be provided.
- Aadhar card
- Driving license
- Voter ID card
- Passport
- Once you have provided the details you will have to submit the application. Upon submission, the authorities will examine your application and an inspection of the premises will be conducted.
- After successful inspection of your business premises if they are satisfied they will renew your application
- The procedure of renewal takes the same amount of time as a fresh application. That is up to 30-60 days.
