#Step no.1 - Enter www.gov.gst.in and open GST portal

The first step for GST number verification is to open the GST website on any web browser. To open the GST website, you need to write www.gst.gov.in on the broswer and the following website shall open:

 

#Step no.2 - Click on the search taxpayer on the menu bar

The next step is to click on the search taxpayer on the menu bar. Once you take the cursor to the search taxpayer part, the three options shall emerge i.e. Search by GSTIN/UIN, Search Migrated taxpayer, Search composition taxpayer. If you want to verify the GST number of a  normal taxpayer, then you should click on search by GSTIN/UIN.

 

#Step no.3 - Enter 15 digit GST Number of the supplier

Once you click on the search by GSTIN as mentioned in the previous step, the following screen shall emerge. Now you need to write the GST number which you want to verify. Once you write the 15 digit GST number, then you shall need to click on the below button.

 

#Step no.4 - Verify displayed information

If the entered GSTIN is correct, then the information shall emerge in the following format.
